My son was born with Cerebral Palsy in
1971. In 1974 I became a member of our local group and joined the
Ladies Committee.
Soon afterwards I was asked to be the group's home visitor and was asked to join the Executive Committee.
I provided this service for group members for over twenty years and in 1995 became the group’s chairperson

Honorary Secretary - Mrs Lynne Nield
My name is Lynne Nield and I am the
secretary of Rochdale & District Scope. I have been involved
with the group for over twenty years as I have a son with cerebral
palsy who is also a member of the group.
I was elected secretary over 10 years ago and my duties include mail shots to members regarding social events that are arranged for the members. I also attend the monthly meetings and write up the minutes.
I help to organise outings and the Christmas party and help with fund raising whenever I can

My name is Steve Ellis and I joined the Executive Committee of Rochdale and District Scope in 2013, having retired from the police service three years earlier.
My daughter, who has cerebral palsy, was born in 1976 and has been a member of Scope for longer than I care to remember.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to contribute in some way to the work of the group
Mr Martin Higginbottom
I was born with Cerebral Palsy in 1971 and became a member of our local group in 1974
I joined the Executive Committee during this time I have been actively involved with fundraising and campaigning, particularly with the action 19 plus campaigning group in the early 1990s campaigning for a service for young people with physical disabilities, this is the moving on service which is now based at Alkrington.

Hello my name is David I was born on the 23/04/1982 in Denmark and I have got cerebral palsy. I use a power wheelchair but that doesn’t get me down and I like I.T. I love life, my high school was Wardle High School it was OK.
After that I when to Hopwood Hall College to do I.T Now I have been a member of Scope for many years and feel very happy to be a part of Scope They are all nice people who work at Scope
Mr Ian Brennan Nield - BSc. Hons. Multimedia and
Internet Technology
In June 2005 I graduated from the University of Salford where I gained a Bsc Hons 2:2 in Multimedia and Internet Technology. The course in general looked at web technologies as well as multi-media elements such as video and audio based around a computer.
I have offered my services on a voluntary basis to maintain and update this website when requested by the Executive Committee.
